About media walls
A media wall only looks right if the wiring was thought about before the boards went on. Once it is plastered, every cable you forgot has to be surface-run down the front of it, which rather defeats the object.
Because our joiners build the wall and our electricians wire it, the socket positions, the aerial and HDMI runs and the lighting are all set out at the same time as the framing. The television bracket lands on a noggin rather than on plasterboard, and the recess is built to the actual dimensions of your set.
We can form an opening for a fire at the same time, electric or otherwise, and light the recesses and shelves so the wall works in the evening as well as in daylight.
Common questions
Can you build one around an existing fire?
Usually yes. We survey the opening and the clearances first — that's the part that decides what is and isn't possible.
Can the wiring be hidden completely?
That's the whole point of doing it at first fix. Sockets and cable runs go in before the plasterboard, so there is nothing on the face of the wall.
How long does a media wall take?
Usually three to five days including the electrics, the plastering and drying time before decorating.
What guarantees do you offer?
