Home/Windows

What we do

Whichever windows suit your home, there's a style here for it. Our UPVC and aluminium windows come as casement, flush casement, tilt & turn and sliding sash, in a wide range of colours and finishes. We also fit timber windows in softwood and hardwood, and Crittall-style steel-look aluminium for period and industrial-look properties.

Not sure which way to go? Read our guide: UPVC vs aluminium windows: which is right for your house?

Every window is surveyed and manufactured to the exact opening size before we come back to fit, which keeps time on site down and means the frames go in properly rather than being packed out to fit.

FAQs

Questions about windows

How long does it take to fit a full house of windows?

It depends on the number and style, but as a general rule a whole house — typically eight to ten windows — is fitted in one to two days. We survey before the windows are made and manufacture every frame to the exact size of the existing opening, which keeps time on site down.

How secure will my new windows be?

Very. All opening windows have locking handles as standard, and every window is internally beaded — the trims holding the glass in are on the inside, so the glass can't be removed from outside to get into the property. Many of our products are Secured by Design accredited, the official police initiative for designing out crime, and we can supply an endorsed upgrade with extra security on top.

What is the energy rating on your windows?

Every window we supply is BFRC A-rated as standard — the highest rating a double glazed window can achieve. Ratings above that need triple glazing, which we can supply, though it costs considerably more than double.

Do you provide toughened glass?

Yes, toughened glazing comes as standard on all our glass units. A lot of firms fit standard double glazed units and charge extra for toughened.

What happens to my old windows?

We take them out and take them away. They go to recycling facilities where possible, and are disposed of properly where not.

Do I need to take my curtains and blinds down?

Yes please — curtains, blinds and anything on the sills need moving before we arrive so the fitters have clear access to the windows.

Will I need planning permission?

Not normally. Repairing, fitting or replacing windows and doors doesn't usually need permission unless the building is listed. If you're in a conservation area or another designated area, check with your local planning authority first.

What guarantees do you offer?

All our windows and doors come with a comprehensive 10-year insurance-backed guarantee, so the cover outlasts the invoice. Roofing and building work carries its own guarantee, and ProPERLA coatings come with a 10-year manufacturer's guarantee on top of ours.

Do you really do all of this yourselves?

Yes. Windows, doors, roofing, building work, electrics and coatings are all our own teams. That's the point of the business — one contract and one point of contact, rather than you co-ordinating five firms and absorbing the gaps between them.

How long does a full house of windows take?

It depends on the number and style, but as a rule a whole house of eight to ten windows is fitted in one to two days. We survey first and manufacture every frame to the exact size of the opening, which keeps time on site down.

How long does a new front door take?

Normally we take the old door out and fit the new one the same day. We'd confirm that at the survey so there are no surprises on the day.
