Extensions
Side or rear, single or two storey — from the first drawings through to the decorating.
About extensions
An extension is the one job where having the trades under one roof actually shows. The brickwork, the roof, the windows and doors, the electrics and the plastering are all ours, so the programme is one programme rather than six diaries that have to line up.
We start with what you're trying to gain — a bigger kitchen, a room that gets the afternoon sun, somewhere to work — and design back from that. Then drawings, structural calculations and building control, all handled as part of the job.
Whatever style of house you have, we can extend to the side or the rear, single storey or two.
Common questions
Will I need planning permission for an extension?
A lot of extensions fall under permitted development, but it depends on size, height, how much you've already extended and whether you're in a conservation area or a listed building. We'll tell you honestly at the survey which side of the line your job sits on, and we handle the application if one is needed.
Do you handle building control?
Yes. Drawings, structural engineer's calculations and building control notification and sign-off are all part of the job rather than something you're left to sort out.
How long does an extension take?
It depends entirely on size and whether it's single or two storey. We give you a programme with the quote rather than a vague estimate, and we'll tell you where the long-lead items are.
What guarantees do you offer?
All our windows and doors come with a comprehensive 10-year insurance-backed guarantee, so the cover outlasts the invoice. Roofing and building work carries its own guarantee, and ProPERLA coatings come with a 10-year manufacturer's guarantee on top of ours.
