Bespoke solid hardwood entrance gate
The old gate had rotted through. Its replacement was made from scratch in solid hardwood to the shape of the existing stone opening, hung on heavy-duty ironmongery and finished to stand up to the weather.
The job
To bespoke manufacture, supply and install a high-quality solid hardwood entrance gate, purpose-made to suit the existing opening and surrounding property.
The gate is traditionally constructed from durable hardwood, with a substantial framed design and carefully finished joinery to provide both strength and an attractive appearance. It is securely hung using heavy-duty gate ironmongery, accurately aligned and adjusted for smooth operation, and fitted with suitable closing and locking hardware.
All timber was appropriately prepared and finished to provide long-term protection against the elements, with the installation completed and surrounding areas made good.
The shaped head follows the original, so the new gate sits into the stonework the way the old one did rather than looking like a replacement.
