About fencing & gates

Fences fail at the posts, essentially always. The panels are rarely the problem — it is the post that has rotted at ground level or was never set deep enough in the first place.

So that is where the work goes: posts set to the right depth in concrete, with the panel type chosen to suit how exposed the run is.

Composite is worth considering if the budget stretches. It costs more up front and then it never needs treating, which over ten years usually works out cheaper as well as easier. Timber panel fencing is still a perfectly good option and costs less on day one.

Gates are made by our own joiner to the opening you have, rather than you trying to find a stock size that nearly fits.

FAQs

Common questions

What's the best material for fencing?

Composite, if the budget runs to it — you don't have to treat it every year and it lasts a long time. Timber panel fencing is still a perfectly good option and costs less up front.

Whose fence is it?

Worth checking your deeds before we start. If it's shared, a quick conversation with the neighbour saves a lot of bother later.

Can you make a gate to fit an odd opening?

Yes — that's what having a joiner is for. Stock gates almost never fit an older opening properly.

What guarantees do you offer?

All our windows and doors come with a comprehensive 10-year insurance-backed guarantee, so the cover outlasts the invoice. Roofing and building work carries its own guarantee, and ProPERLA coatings come with a 10-year manufacturer's guarantee on top of ours.
