ProPERLA textured basecoat
For walls that need building up before a topcoat goes anywhere near them.
About properla textured basecoat
Not every wall is ready for a topcoat. Render that has hairline crazing, masonry with an uneven face, or a surface where the old finish has been taken back unevenly will show every one of those flaws through a thin coating.
The textured basecoat is there to sort that out. It is a highly breathable, high-performance coating that builds the surface up and gives a consistent texture for the facade coating to go onto, and it can create a range of textured finishes in its own right.
Whether a wall needs it is a survey decision rather than a sales one — plenty do not.
Common questions
Do I need a basecoat?
Often not. It's for walls with crazing, an uneven face or patchy old finishes. We'll tell you at the survey — it's not something we add as a matter of course.
Is it breathable?
Yes, highly. Breathability runs through the whole ProPERLA system; a basecoat that trapped moisture would undo the point of the topcoat.
What guarantees do you offer?
All our windows and doors come with a comprehensive 10-year insurance-backed guarantee, so the cover outlasts the invoice. Roofing and building work carries its own guarantee, and ProPERLA coatings come with a 10-year manufacturer's guarantee on top of ours.
